Graveyard hijinks.

So last night I was wonderin' around and fixin' to get up to no good and so I headed into the ol' family graveyard. Y'all'll never guess what I saw. I saw some guy diggin in there. Figuring that it's always good to know someone in the grave diggin' business, I decided to go over and make all friendly like. I got a bad feelin' as I was gettin' closer and so I shouted a friendly "Howdy." Well, I reckon that it was as friendly a howdy as I could muster in the middle of the night in a grave yard while someone was in a fresh grave.

The guy turns around and wouldn't you know it? It was the construction foreman. Guy goes by the name Hill Billy One. I know that I got to be careful, cuz he's been around the town and I'm sure that he'd be none too happy if he were to realize who I am and that I was on his crew.

Well, he's all bowed up and starts to lay into me about how I shouldn't be here and how I'm tresspassin' and this and that and the other. Since he's trying to shoo me away, I figure that I best be going. Just as I am going, it starts to rain.

Bein' I'm curious about what he was doing out there all by his lonesome, I figure that I should head back in the morning. When I got there, it looks like he's done filled in the grave again. Well, that figures, if'n he's tryin' to hide bodies, then I'd fill in the grave too. So, I take a quick look at the grave to see who's got company. Lo and behold the grave is all scratched up, but it looks like it says "Crutch", which is just fine by me. I don't know what happened to that ornry varmint, but good riddance.

Just as I'm about to leave, I notice one more thing... Since it started to rain last night, I can see Hilly Billy One's footprints leavin' the grave. The percurilar thing is that there is another set of footprints walkin' right behind his away from the grave. If he had help, I figure that I would have seen a set of footprints headin' up the to grave. But I don't see them. Only two sets walkin' away from it. So, I'm thinkin' that he didn't so much leave a body down as get a body out. An' somehow that body walked away on its on volition...
